Our Diagnostic Imaging Unit comprises experts in radiography, ultrasonography, MRI and scintigraphy. It provides around-the-clock support to all of our primary disciplines. Diagnostic Imaging staff at work

  • Radiography– We have an Agfa digital radiography system with Visbion digital viewing stations, enabling our clinicians to download and send digital images to referring vets with their reports. We are also able to view digital images sent to us for interpretation through this system.
  • Ultrasonography – We have equipment that allows spectral, colourflow and power Doppler, and also perform contrast ultrasonography. Ocular ultrasonography is a speciality of the Department. Direct referrals for ultrasonography only are accepted in certain circumstances: please use the above e-mail address for further information.
  • MRI – We have a high-field 1.5T system on site, providing high resolution images allowing us to identify subtle changes. All of our MRI scans are performed and interpreted by a veterinary imaging specialist with results available immediately.
  • Scintigraphy – Nuclear scintigraphy is available on site.

BVA/KC CMSM MRI Screening

Staff at the AHT helped set up the screening programme for Chiari-like malformation and syringomyelia with the BVA and we now offer high field MRI screening with a Neurology consultation and general anaesthetic (to maintain the airway). For more information click here.
